Econ 140APeer Review

How this works

What this is

This is a peer-review activity for Econ 140A. It runs in three stages, one after the other: you write your answers, you review a few classmates' answers, and then you revise your own work using the feedback you receive. The app always shows which stage is open and when it closes.

Some questions include an AI assistant you can use while you work. It is there to help you think; the answers you submit must be your own.

The three stages

1 · Writing stage. Closes Wed, Oct 14. Answer the questions and submit each one. Drafts save automatically, and you can keep editing a submitted answer until this stage closes.

2 · Reviewing stage. Closes Sat, Oct 17. You will be given classmates' anonymized answers and a grading rubric to judge them against. Mark what each answer covers, rate it, and leave a short comment.

3 · Revising stage. Closes Tue, Oct 20. Read the feedback your classmates left on your answer and change it if you want to. Your work stays available to read after the assignment closes.

Each stage opens when the one before it closes. Once a stage has closed, nothing in it can be changed.

Short surveys appear along the way, asking what you thought of the questions and the tools. Please consider filling them out! They will help improve the next assignment.

About anonymity

Classmates see your answer as a numbered submission, not your name, and you see theirs the same way. The app does not store your name, student ID, or email. Your access code links you to your account.

Questions or problems

If your access code does not work, something looks broken, or you are unsure what to do, email Lars at lleimkuhler@ucsb.edu.
